Drive Labeler

Experience Level: Advanced

Drive Labeler updates the labels on the drives in the Storage tab of the Windows Home Server Console on the HP MediaSmart Server.

The drive labels are updated as follows:

  • Drives are correctly labeled as SATA rather than SCSI.
  • The drive bay location is appended to internal SATA drives
  • External SATA drives are correctly shown as External rather than Internal.

    Just wondering if this Add-On works on just the MSS or if it will work on a home built WHS box?

    It didn’t work for me on my HomeGrown box. Look at the tutorials of how to edit your drive lables via RegEdit. I just did it and it works great
