Add-In: Asset UPnP Media Server

Asset is a free media server add-in from Illustrate (developers of the RipNAS home server and RipNAS Essentials CD Ripping add-in) which improves the audio streaming capabilities of Windows Home Server, in a similar way to commercial products like Twonky Media Server.

Using a media server add-in such as Asset allows you to play back a wider variety of audio file formats stored on your home server to a greater number of digital media receiving devices in the home.

    Dear all,

And please find on following forum entry my quick review. One major issue needs to be resolved. If that’s done, Asset will be a useful add-in to the WHS. Currently it shows a one minute (!) delay between tracks.
    Issue submitted to dbpoweramp/asset forum.

@GuustFlater – It works fine with my ancient Netgear MP101 without any playback gap. Could it be an incompatibility problem with your Philips player? My MP101 would hang after playing the first song with Windows Media Connect on my WHS.
