HP MediaSmart Server EX487 Wins Engadget Editors Award 2008 For Best Storage Device

Well, a protest by WGS’ European Readership (see comments) and a healthy dose of Apple fanboy-ism may well have put paid to HP’s chances of snagging the Readers’ Awards, but it’s good to know that Engadget’s editors know a cracking storage device when they see one.

Speed up IE8

I recently updated my IE7 browser to IE8 on my Vista workstation and on my WHS.  It has some interesting new features.  Sometimes it seems to open sites quite quickly.  Sometimes not.  Sometimes, it simply says an error has occurred and is closes down.

It would seem as though IE8 is a good advertisement for Firefox.  Today, I just spotted this post on the Windows Live network.  It references a “fix” that Ed Bott of ZDNet fame came up with that seems to speed things up.  Quite a bit for some.
