Well, a protest by WGS’ European Readership (see comments) and a healthy dose of Apple fanboy-ism may well have put paid to HP’s chances of snagging the Readers’ Awards, but it’s good to know that Engadget’s editors know a cracking storage device when they see one.
hFX mini storage Home Server
Chalk up another great looking home server in the marketplace as hFX release their mini storage system in Europe.
Add-In: File Manager 1.0.0.1
If you’ve been looking for Windows Explorer functionality within the Windows Home Server Console, File Manager is for you.

Add-in Update: Router Control 1.0.0.11 + 1.1 CTP
Felix Kollmann has been busy updating his add-in, Router Control, which monitors traffic going through your router and allows you to access information on that traffic via the WHS Console.

Speed up IE8
I recently updated my IE7 browser to IE8 on my Vista workstation and on my WHS. It has some interesting new features. Sometimes it seems to open sites quite quickly. Sometimes not. Sometimes, it simply says an error has occurred and is closes down.
It would seem as though IE8 is a good advertisement for Firefox. Today, I just spotted this post on the Windows Live network. It references a “fix” that Ed Bott of ZDNet fame came up with that seems to speed things up. Quite a bit for some.
Add-In Review: Drive Balancer
Last month, I wrote an article about a new application for WHS called Drive Balancer. The article was based off the original released version of this application. A few iterations has occurred since and it is time to do a formal review of the program.
Add-In Review: WHS Web Logs
A few months ago, I wrote an article on how to analyze Website log files from your WHS. The program discussed in this article is a standalone program (non-WHS specific). A new WHS specific add-in, WHS Web Logs, has been released to the wild that will allow you to look up IP/DNS information of who is accessing your WHS.
How well does it work? Read on.
Add-In: Outlook for WHS
A new, free Windows Home Server add-in helps you access Outlook email from any home computer on your network.
