According to Computerworld, Symantec will be joining the line up of cloud-based backup providers at some point in the next few months.
Symantec purchased SwapDrive Inc in the summer last year, and it’s thought that the technology acquired in that purchase will form the backbone of the standalone service.
It’lll be interesting to see whether this offers support for multiple platforms, like Amazon S3, or will require a specific (non-WHS) client like HP Upline.
