Over at the Microsoft booth today I had the chance to take a look at Acer’s new home server.

Overall, it looked good – the build quality doesn’t feel as refined as a number of other home servers, with the drive bays in particular feeling pretty cheap – that said, if the price point is right then that’s less of a problem.
Those of you loving your eSATA ports will be happy to know the easyStore comes supplied with a rear port.

Very nice box! to bad I allready build one for my dad (same is mine). Otherwise I’d recomment him this one.
Acer’s support is great here in the Netherlands. Never had any problems with them.

I wonder if that expansion slot in the back indicates the unit can accept a low profile PCI-express card. I have no use for that now. But in the near future, if only they made a low profile M-Card Tuner http://www.cetoncorp.com/ProductsVista.php, get Media Center embedded into WHS “Vail” and certify these WHSs for CableCard.
