Be a Beta Tester for Tranquil PC

Tranquil PC are looking for beta testers for their new online backup service, which will be launching later in the year for Windows Home Server plus additional operating systems.

The service, Tranquil Life Server will be launched as an add-in for WHS and the company are looking for between 50 and 100 testers to test the loading of Tranquil’s servers.

The WHS add-in is not yet currently available, but if you are interested in testing the new service, you can download a desktop application, and set up a number of folders for backing up.

In return, Tranquil PC may upgrade a number of testers to the full WHS application at launch.

If you wish to participate, simply download the beta application or contact TLS@tranquilpc.co.uk to request a copy.

Works v.well. Good upload speed. Files encrypted.
Would love to see how this will work within whs front end.

Well done to tranquil for the sight to bring this to WHS. This is a service that is missing from the system. Even with PP1, being able to back up important file to a seperate disk is not ideal. My disk drive is in a safe place which is not to easy to get at after 5pm and weekends.

The service seems to be running very well right now – thanks for WGS readers for such prompt and positive feedback !

We have noted that the BLOWFISH encryption method is preferred – we may remove DES etc from the final product.

The project is not just about building a bullet proof ‘on line backup server system’ with 4x duplicates of the client data folders (we already have this) it’s about a simple UI (coming soon) – and the ability to not only ‘backup and archive’ huge amounts of client data (as stored on WHS systems) – but also a sensible (quick) way to get it back – either on HDD, or on ‘ready to go’ new servers – we already make those !

Having your data backed up off-line in QUAD seems great – but getting the 10′s or 100′s of GBs back is something else !!

Tranquil Life Server is the ultimate off line backup service – and when it launches, we sincerely hope the hard work will result in an easy to use, trust worthy, and very robust service.

Keep signing up and pressing the servers – they just want to soak up all those TBs !
