Looks like the Internet scores another, as an FCC filing document for Netgear’s forthcoming EVA9000 Digital Entertainer Elite leaks out with full details of the hardware design and specification.
Whilst the unit itself looks a little nicer than its predecessor, the most notable aspect of the EVA9000 is its in-built hard disk bay, which appears to borrow heavily from HP’s Pocket Media Drive concept. Not sure how popular that has been, or how popular it will be on the Netgear device, but it should allow to to store content locally on the Digital Entertainer rather than stream it from a home server, getting around network speed issues if you have them at home.
Also coming is 802.11n wireless networking, a high bitrate for 1080p HD video and a plethora of music, video and image formats supported, which will put most if not all other media streamers to shame.
We’ll certainly be checking it out next month at CES, so stay tuned.

Looks nice, shame it wasn’t a WHS as that case looks just perfect for one to be stacked with the rest off your av stuff.
