Yesterday, I felt the need to defrag my WHS hard drives. I went to the Raxco website and downloaded their 30 day trial of PerfectDisk for WHS. It integrates quite nicely inside the WHS console. It takes awhile to defrag drives, but it seems to do a nice job and has lots of options to configure how it works with WHS. I was amazed at the defrag level of some of my drives; over 50% on some of them! This made me quite happy to that I finally took the initiative to try out a defrag software solution for WHS.
Earlier today, I was perusing some of the WHS sites and I happened on Philip Churchill’s MS Windows Home Server site. His second most recent post immediately caught my eye.
PerfectDisk 2008 is a defrag tool, and if you don’t know already, Raxco the people behind it have a version especially designed for Windows Home Server.
Now, if you fancy giving a copy a new home on your Home Server, just type the code PDTEN4FREE (do not cut & paste) during checkout and you’ll receive a 25% discount and a FREE upgrade to PerfectDisk Version 10 when it is released.
The offer expires before midnight on December 19, 2008.
More details are available from here.
Very nice coincidence as I was seriously considering buying this software. $40 is a decent price. $30 and a free upgrade to Version 10 is even more decent! As Philip notes in his post, you have until December 19th to take advantage of this offer.
