Tranquil PC Offer Early VAT Reduction to All

Over here in the UK, the government today announced plans to tackle recession and encourage consumer spending through a 2.5% reduction in VAT (UK Sales Tax), dropping from 17.5% (yep, you read that correctly) down to 15% from December 1st. Cue every shop in the country being forced to change every price in their store in the midst of Christmas trading. Ouch.

Anyway, Tranquil PC dropped me a note to announce that they’re celebrating by offering a 2.5% reduction on all purchases (whether you’re inside or outside the UK) from today up until midnight on November 30th by using this coupon code: VATUK25

17.5% (now 15.0%) is nothing, come to Denmark, where we are blessed with a 25.0% VAT.

I believe 15% is as low as it can go.

@Finn – You must remember you actually have decent public services for that tax!

  • Martin H

@A. Haines, yeah right? Or not, the public services is under alot of presure here in Denmark not enugh employees in the hospitals etc. The service level has dropped over the past years and we stil pay 25% VAT and don’t forget the taxes on cars are extreme!
