PerfectDisk for Windows Home Server Version 10 Coming Soon

Raxco’s PerfectDisk for Windows Home Server is a popular disk defragmentation application which helps keep your hard disks running smoothly. A teaser post over on Raxco’s blog announced that version 10 of the product is in development and slated for release early next year. The guys over at Raxco have confirmed to us that a version for Windows Home Server will also be released.

We’ll have more on planned features for the new release as soon as they’re available.

    From what I’ve read: it’s either (1) unneccessary or (2) sometimes risky/dangerous to do disk defragmentation on something like WHS.

    Any thoughts/data?

    It’s dangerous *unless* you’re using a product specifically developed for Windows Home Server… both PerfectDisk and Diskeeper have WHS-specific products.

    I’m using Perfectdisk for WHS and everytime it tries to defrag the computer reboots and when it starts up it states it recovered from a serious error. I don’t know what is happening.
