As Mark Pendergrast posted over on the Windows Home Server Team Blog, last week saw the inaugural Windows Home Server Platform Extensibility Day, at which a whole host of software developers rocked up at Microsoft’s Redmond campus to meet the team, gain insights into the past, present and future of the Windows Home Server platform, and discuss the development of dedicated software for Windows Home Server through the WHS SDK.
Most importantly, it was a great opportunity for both community and commercial add-in developers to meet up, swap a few secrets and discuss the platform with each other.
With this event, as well as dedicated Windows Home Server sessions planned for PDC and WinHEC, it’s clear to see that Microsoft are working hard to bring in and support new software developers to Windows Home Server, which, of course, is great news for the community.
If you’re a software developer who’s considered writing an application for Windows Home Server, there’s never been a better time to jump in and find out more.
So, there were quite a few developers there – and the list of attendees hasn’t been revealed by Microsoft, but I’m sure it’d make interesting reading.
The question struck me, if you could choose 3 developers that you really wished were in that room last week, who would they be? Let me know below and I’ll send through to the team – maybe they’ll get an invite to next years session.
