The Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHEC) is being held in LA this year, just after the Professional Developers Conference, from November 5th through to November 7th. Preliminary sessions have just been announced, and there’s a few selected sessions that will be of interest to Home Server and Media Center enthusiasts.
Connected PCs and Devices
- Design Considerations for Building a Windows Home Server
- Discussion: Windows Home Server
- Windows Connect Now for Wireless Devices
- Windows Logo for Network Media Devices and the Role of DLNA
- Windows SideShow: Building Better Devices and PCs
Core Platform & Fundamentals
High Fidelity Graphics and Media
- DirectX: Core Graphics for Windows 7
- Discussion: Windows Media Center
- Display and Monitor Technologies
- Perspectives on the Windows TV Tuners Ecosystem
- Video Improvements in Windows 7
- Windows 7 Logo Program for TV Tuners and Remotes
With such a focus on Windows 7 at both the PDC and WinHEC later in the year, my guess is someone’s going to be handing out shiny beta DVDs at each event. But that really is a guess.
