That’s a hefty mark-up on the box it’s based on, even when taking into account the add in hardware – not sure how much volume they’ll do at that price… :-( Will have to investigate DIYing it as an alternative.

What to do if you have digital cable tv or sattelite?

  • JeePeeBee

It would be a nice if they offer an upgrade set from an A3 to an M One. The price of the M-one is indeed a bit hefty to just buy a second box. Allthough I’m very pleased with the A3 (it’s so quiet)

shesh nice to see the direct dollar to pound ratio of IT hasn’t changed even with the current exchange rates, the sagetv version of the extender is $199 the tranquil version £199 so its a £100 markup not taking into account the possible volume discount they get.

Matt – The Tranquil extender is the SageTV extender, for use in UK. But the maths you have applied really isn’t quite true. If you order a SAGETV unit from US, pay shipping, import taxes, paper work handling and VAT (all of these will be charged) you will pay a similar amount. By ordering the SAGETV extender from UK, you are getting an updated (flashed), UK plugged device – with support from UK. I wish we could make a markup, but sadly not – the markup (reasonable) is only on the server side device (our own product).

D fro reports in the sage forums it works out about £30 cheaper but i take your point on the plug/firmware and frinately support. Any thoughts on a bundle deal ?
