Windows Home Server Add-Ins List – The Next Generation

The Add-ins page here at We Got Served is one of the most popular areas of the site, with details of all released add-ins for Windows Home Server in the past year,

As the number of add-ins grows, it can be difficult to find time to keep the list up to date, so I’d like to welcome Tim Norton to the WGS team, who has very kindly volunteered to keep the add-ins list updated. Tim’s already made a big impact on this area of the site, with the addition of the latest version numbers and release dates (where available) for each add-in on the list. These key pieces of information will enable you to quickly check you’re running the most up to date version of the software.

Very soon, we’ll be splitting out commercial software and add-in releases from that list (there are 4-5 lurking in there) to create a separate list of commercial software releases for WHS – the add-ins list as you know it will be wholly devoted to free community-developed software.

We’re in the process of hooking Tim up with a WGS email address, for all add-in updates, so stay tuned but for now, please welcome Tim to WGS and check out the new list.

Now we only need an add-in which tells you of new updates (maybe even auto-update?)

The list is extremely useful and I thank Tim for stepping up and helping out. What would also be useful (apart from MS fixing the bloody data bug) would be a blog just for the add-ins, announcing new ones and detailing updates of existing ones – maybe addins.wegotserved.co.uk?

Only one suggestion for us over here in the US….can you put the month as a three letter abbreviation rather than a two digit code?
E.g..”Program Launcher”, it says 03/08/07.. Is this Mar 8 2007 or 3 Aug 2007? In the US, the customary way is Month-Day-Year.

    Thanks!

I like your idea steve… or may be we can have some sort of graphic indicator next to addin name on the page that shows recently updated would be a great start :)
