We’ve just heard from HP that they will be moving their planned February update for the HP MediaSmart Server back a couple of months to early April due to the need for “additional testing”.

The update, announced in early January, is set to bring a suite of new features to the MediaSmart Server, including enhanced media streaming from Packet Video, as well as server-side anti-virus protection from McAfee.

Congratulations HP… If you were delivering a product to the paying public you would have been canned/sacked after this many delays!. This is the second (third?) delay you have announced with two weeks notice before an announced arrival date. May I remind you of what is happening to EDS? Stand and deliver or collect unemployment. Like many of us early adopters we are still in a holding pattern. We won't purchase the new version to get the new software we will just move on to another platform where the company doesn't jerk the users around. It is times like this I wish my company would just re-compete its contract with HP. If you really are going to deliver this product then deliver. It is not like you don't have a HP470/475 somewhere to test with.
