Introducing 4 New People to the Team

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been thinking about what we do here at We Got Served, and how we can keep improving the site to continue providing the best coverage of Windows Home Server on the web. I’ve been writing the blog on my own now for almost a year, and now it’s established in the community, I reckon it’s about time you got to hear a few different voices than my own this year!

So, I’d like to introduce you to a few friends who are joining the WGS team to help you make the most of Windows Home Server. Please say a big hello to…

Andrew Edney – Software Reviewer

Andrew is a fellow Windows Home Server MVP and author of a number of Windows books, including the recently published Windows Home Server User’s Guide. Andrew will be reviewing the major commercial software releases for Windows Home Server, from the likes of Avast, Diskeeper, Perfect Disk and others. We’re currently pulling together our schedule for reviews over the next few months, so if you’d like to organise a review of your WHS commercial release, then please get in touch.

Kevin Royalty – Technical Features

Kevin is a Windows Small Business Server MVP, (and owner of three WHS systems) and has an in depth knowledge of Windows Server technologies, working with both SBS and WHS in the consultancy sector. Many of you have already downloaded Kevin’s guide to integrating WSUS into Windows Home Server and he’s currently working on a great new series of articles for his next feature, which will help you understand WHS technologies in more detail and maximise your usage of Windows Home Server.

Richard Hay – Community Add-Ins Reviewer

Richard runs a tech enthusiast blog called Windows Observer and is a long time Microsoft Beta Tester across a number of programs, including last year’s Windows Home Server beta. Richard will be spending time over the next few months delving into the world of Community Add-ins to help you understand which ones you must install on your home server.

Andrew Carr – Community Add-In Reviewer

Andrew joined the WHS public beta in early 2007 and since then has been a passionate WHS enthusiast, using the product as the centre point of his home network in Cambridge, UK. Andrew, with Richard, will be working through the list of community add-ins for Windows Home Server, bringing you reviews of each over the coming months.

As for me, I’m not going anywhere – I’ll still be covering Windows Home Server news and hardware reviews. Expanding the team today with the help of Andrew, Kevin, Richard and Andrew will increase the expertise and enthusiasm we can bring to ensure we can remain a daily destination for you in 2008 as the home server world continues to evolve.

We’re always looking for people to join the team at We Got Served, so if you have a passion for home servers and the digital home, and think you’ve got the right stuff to engage and delight readers with what you’ve got to say, then get in touch and get involved!

In the meantime, welcome guys!

    Hi
all of you! It is good to hear that Terry do not has to do all the further work on his own. Christoph and me both know how hard it is to cover the whole development besides normal our normal jobs. I wish you all the best and very much to write about.

    Welcome guys!

It’s great to see We Got served is expanding! Keep ‘em coming guys! This site is my no. 1 source on WHS related things, news and questions I got. (Most of the questions I have on WHS are in the how-to’s and tutorials I find here).

    Welcome,

I know many of us in the US use this as our primary non MS informatioin site for WHS. As a beta tester for WHS myself, I enjoy reading everything I can get, especially new viewpoints.

    Best,

    Pete

  • http://diskeeper.com Derek of Diskeeper Corporation

    Derek

  • Andrew Carr

It was only by using the walk through that Terry did on WGS, back in February 07, that I was inspired to build my first home server and install the WHS public beta. Since then the site has guided me to the where I am today as a WGS contributor. I am looking forward to contributing alongside Andrew, Richard and Kevin and am especially keen to try out all the great Add-Ins that community developers are working away on, so send them in!

    Andrew

  • Richard Hay

Thanks everyone. Terry runs a great site and I am excited about working with him and everyone else on this site. WHS is a great technology that is going to be around for a very long time.

    Take care.
