Along with Norco’s DS-520G, many WGS readers have raved about Chenbro’s Home Server Chassis, the ES340, which has been the choice of many self-builders this year.

At the Microsoft Embedded session in Seoul on Tuesday, Chenbro revealed a sneak preview of their new Mini-ITX Home Server chassis, the ES300.

The ES300 will be positioned as the baby brother of the ES340, with 3 internal hard drive slots available (compared to the ES340’s 4 slots). 2 USB ports are available for external storage expansion.

Preliminary specifications are as follows:

Model Name: ES30069
Motherboard Form Factors: Mini-ITX, Mini-DTX
Dimensions: 260mm x 140mm x 260mm (10.24″ x 5.51″ x 10.24″)
Internal Drive Bays: 3
PSU: Flex ATX, 150w
Indicator Lights: Power, Boot, HDD Activity, 4 x HDD, LAN Activity
Front Control: Power, Reset, USB 2.0 x 2

No word on pricing at this point, but we do have a shot of the ES300’s data sheet which lays out full details.

I just received this case yesterday, and I must say that I am quite pleased with it so far. It has high-quality construction and looks very nice. It should be a good option for those of us who only need room for 2 hard drives.
