Omwave Launch Windows Home Server Hardware in France

To date, I don’t believe we’ve covered any Windows Home Server coming out of France. That changes today, with news that French manufacturer Omwave have released a new WHS-based product called Omserver.

Omserver is a small, compact and neat looking unit which can be rack-mounted if required, or can sit easily on a shelf or under the TV. 4 configurations are available, from 1Tb to 4Tb of internal storage – specs are as follows:

OM SERVER 1 TB (2 * 500 GB)

  • Intel Chipset G31
  • Processor: Celeron 1.8Ghz
  • Memory: 1 Gigabyte
  • Storage: 1 Tb (configures as 2 x 500Gb drives) – 2 free bays available
  • Rear Ports: 4 x USB 2.0, VGA, Mouse, Keyboard, Audio
  • Network: Gigabit Ethernet

OM SERVER 2 TB (4 * 500 GB)

  • Intel Chipset G31
  • Processor: Celeron 1.8 Ghz
  • Memory: 1 Gigabyte 
  • Storage: 2 Tb (configures as 4 x 500Gb drives) 
     
  • Rear Ports: 4 x USB 2.0, VGA, Mouse, Keyboard, Audio
  • Network: Gigabit Ethernet

  •  The units are now shipping in France for a pretty steep 960 Euros for the base configuration.
