Code2Fame – Final Judging Tomorrow…

Pundit-alert over in Redmond this week, as the Windows Home Server team get together with notable web pundits Paul Thurrott, Ed Bott and Rob Enderle to go through all of the entries submitted for the Code2Fame add-in competition, and pick out first, second and third place winners.

According to the official contest rules, first round judging has already been completed to pick out up to 3 finalists in both software and hardware categories, based on he following criteria:

20% Creativity (Is it creative? Is it innovative?)
20% Practical Use/Time Saver (Does it solve a practical problem? Does it make something easier? Does it save peoples time?)
20% Performance (Does it run smoothly?)
20% Ease of Use (Is it easy to install and use? Does it require the user to reference a read me file or instructions to use?)
20% Cool factor (Would people want to use it? Is it something people think they must have?)

Tomorrow, the finalists will face the judging panel and demonstrate their add-in over in Redmond, a big challenge (although I’m sure trying to get a word in edgeways with the assembled panel will be a tougher one icon smile Code2Fame Final Judging Tomorrow... )

Up for grabs? $10,000 for the winner in each category, $5,000 for second place and $1,000 for third – well worth a chat with the judging panel, no matter who is the outright winner.

Good luck to all, and we look forward to hearing the results in October.

    I guess this means I wasn’t selected as a finalist… darn.

Good to hear some news though, like many I expect I’d hoped that they would have announced the finalists before selecting the places.
