It’s just a shame it doesn’t have two internal drives…. although the external drives do look cool and the no additional power is a great advantage.

It’s also a shame it doesn’t have Gb lan connection? – Won’t we need that for multi media streaming in the future?

  • http://green-pcs.co.uk David

Martin, re Gb LAN – true. But see what the real world tests confirmed :

“The only other bottleneck – the use of 10/100 rather than Gigabit Ethernet – isn’t a real-world issue, either. We ran three simultaneous 720p HD video streams to different clients (plus a stream of music for good measure), and were pleased that everything continued running without any issues.”

David – That seems promising, but are there any plans for Tanquial to have a Gb Lan in the future? I’m (and I’m sure outhers) will want to future proof as much as possible. Cheers

Martin, At present the systems are based on 10/100. Of course we have had a ground swell of questions – the major one being Gbe. We listen ! We are now evaluating a Gbe design, and if it completes the design and test cycle, we may see it within 6-8 weeks. Keep your eye on our blog for new information : http://green-pcs.co.uk

Our T2-HSA systems (due November 2007) will certainly have Gbe, but loads of other goodies too – (like support for 10′s TBs !!)
