This week sees WinHEC 2007 (Windows Hardware Engineering Conference) being held in Los Angeles. It’s a big conference at which Microsoft shares technical details on existing and forthcoming technologies to press, partners and other interested parties across its various Server and Client product lines.
Whilst the focus this year will undoubtedly be on Windows Vista and Windows Longhorn Server (or rather, “Windows Server 2008″), it’s great to see that there will be a couple of sessions included on Windows Home Server. Hopefully a bit more information will be forthcoming on various OEM hardware options being planned (HP are exhibiting at the event, amongst others), and who knows, Home Server may get a mention/demo/showcase at Bill Gates’ keynote tomorrow morning.
Thursday appears to be the day for that WHS information to come out, with sessions entitled “Windows Home Server Overview and Opportunity”, and “Windows Home Server Deep Dive” – whilst I’m not going to be in LA, I’ll be keeping an eye out for any interesting nuggets via the Web.
