Further to my blog over the weekend on building your own Home Server, the Windows Home Server team have now released the recommended hardware specs for running Beta 2.
CPU: 1GHz Pentium 3 or better
RAM: 512MB minimum
Hard Drive:1 Hard Drive 80GB internal (IDE, ATA, SATA, or SCSI)
DVD drive that is bootable
Monitor for the installation
QWERTY Keyboard and mouse or a compatible pointing device. Also installation only.
Network Interface Card (NIC) 100Mbps Ethernet
They do make the point however that multiple hard drives are preferred, for use with file duplication settings – this mirrors your files across multiple drives to ensure a backup is safe in the event of a drive failure.
